Finch students receive bicycles for perfect attendance - Star Community Newspapers, Texas

Finch Elementary students received bicycles for perfect attendance for the spring semester and for the year on June 5, the last day of school.

The bicycles and gifts are provided through The Terrific Kids Program sponsored by the McKinney Kiwanis Club. This semester a total of 18 bicycles and helmets were given to children who had achieved perfect attendance.

Terrific Kids at Finch Elementary School is a student-recognition program that promotes attendance. Students work with their classroom teachers and principals to establish goals to improve tardiness and attendance. The ultimate goal is perfect attendance.

The teachers and principals track students’ names for each goal met. Names are drawn at the end of each semester for bicycles. A name is drawn for one boy and one girl from each grade. A drawing for bicycles also takes place for perfect attendance for the year.
