“A Variety Show—Stars Among Us” is the theme for the 2008 event when the Kiwanis Club of Chipley proudly presents its annual Dinner Theatre on September 18.
In past years, this recurring event has experienced sellout crowds for a fast-paced stage show. All tickets will be sold in advance through Kiwanis club members or by phone for payment at the door. Once again this year, the Ag Center will become a “night club” for this evening event, which will again feature the Webb Family Band and Jacob Sowell.
The Kiwanis Dinner Theater format has proven to be an effective fundraiser for the local Kiwanis club, which was formed in 1941 and is marking its 67th year of community service to the youth of Washington County. The Kiwanis Club of Chipley last year provided financial support to more than 30 recipient groups/activities conducting youth oriented events and programs.
A steak dinner will be served at 6 p.m. in the Ag Center Assembly Hall, followed by the performances.
Tickets are US$25 per person, or $45 per couple, and are available from members of the Kiwanis club and from select businesses throughout Washington County. Tickets are available by calling (850) 638-1983. Door prizes will be awarded.
The Kiwanis club meets Tuesdays at Noon in Pattillo’s Restaurant at WHTC (in the middle of the WHTC campus). Anyone interested in membership information can contact any Kiwanian or David Solger, membership chairperson, at (850) 638-1276.
The Kiwanis International family of programs comprises nearly 600,000 youth and adult members in more than 90 nations. The Kiwanis motto is “Serving The Children of the World,” and its six permanent objects have remained unchanged since adoption in 1924.
