The 120th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade began under sunny skies, warm temperatures and thousands of people still stuck in traffic jams trying to find parking places, police said.

A float called "Entertaining Expedition" and featuring towering, feathery trees won the Sweepstakes Trophy this year, and the Princess's Trophy for most beautiful float under 35 feet went to "Sharing The Great Outdoors," Kiwanis International and Phoenix Decorating Co.

Greetings from Chandler, AZ.   Can you post a picture of the float?

Bob - Thank you for the great idea! The picture is now part of the story and if you click on it, you will see the float in greater detail.

Congratulations, a beautiful float! The Kiwanis Club in Marysville, WA is proud to have as new members to our club from California, Dan and Vicki Steffen, who for many years were volunteers working on the Kiwanis Rose Parade float. They have kept us informed of the project.

Why does the picture appear to be the one for the 1/1/08 float?

As the article says, the 1/1/09 award winner is "Sharing the Great OUtdoors" which is not the float depicted!

Bert - We apologize for the mistake. We thought we had the correct image. It has now been fixed.

How do I find a photo of the 2009 Rose Parade float?  I'm sick and tired of trying to maneuver through the KI Web site.  It really is not user-friendly anymore - - - except for people who spend a lot of time on-line.  I'm a Kiwanian who doesn't have that much time on my hands.

Carole - You can find a picture here: www.kiwanisrosefloat.com/.../2009Kiwanisfloat43.jpg. There are several images from the Kiwanis club that built the float.
