After more than a decade of inactivity, the Howell Kiwanis Club is once again an active chapter. The group held a formal chartering meeting on Saturday and Gary Kackstetter, the group’s president, tells WHMI they needed at least 25 to restart the chapter and were able to start off with 29. He says from here they are looking to move forward and grow.
Kackstetter says the Howell Kiwanis Club will now get to work on lining up various service projects that address a variety of community needs, including providing dictionaries to third graders, sponsoring Cub or Boy Scout groups and providing scholarships. Anyone interested in either becoming a member or suggesting a possible project can contact Kackstetter at garykackstetter@kw.com or call 810-534-2045.
