Kiwanis International recently held its 97th International Convention in Nashville, where 2,100 clubs were represented and 5,000 people attended as delegates from 72 nations.
The nations represented were from as far away as Malaysia and Taiwan.
The Lake Wales Kiwanis Club was well represented at the convention.
Attending were Dr. T.J. McKeon, Kiwanis resident/delegate of McKeon Chiropractic Clinic, and Nathans, Kiwanis president-elect/delegate of The Groves Center.
The attendees heard nationally recognized speakers on topics including membership drives, membership retention, insurance coverage via the international organization, and leadership training.
Other opportunities included hands-on classes and performances by top entertainers.
The Lake Wales Kiwanis Club meets at noon Thursdays. The group of 45 businesspeople is conducting a membership drive.
