Residents of children’s home treated to food and friendship

KINGSTON, JAMAICA, W.I. - Residents at the Mustard Seed Communities' children's home in Adelphi, St James, were yesterday treated to food and friendship from the Kiwanis Club of Providence, Montego Bay. Club members also planted a garden.
"We are thankful to God for people who remember these children, because these children are without families, and we are their family," said Despy-anna Davis, a supervisor at Mustard Seed.
"We are proud to have the Kiwanis Club here with them today, sharing whatever they have, and we are grateful to God for this."
The Mustard Seed Communities is a Catholic-affiliated charity which focuses on the care of disadvantaged and abused children, as well as those afflicted by physical disability.
Dr Doris Channer-Watson, president of the Kiwanis Club of Providence, said the organisation has been serving the children of Mustard Seed for three years, often performing beautification work as well.
"This feeding project is a special quarterly project for us, but that does not limit us to only coming here quarterly," she noted.
