GRAND
CAYMAN, CAYMAN ISLANDS - An event featuring interior design trends on Saturday,
29 May will help support the Kiwanis Club's mobile book library.
The
Kiwanis Club of Grand Cayman has teamed up with radio Z-99 and The Rooster
to participate in the Design Showcase at Cypress Point at Crystal Harbour. All
proceeds from the entrance fee will be donated to the mobile library.
Several
years ago The Kiwanis Club began raising money to buy a trailer, which has
recently been converted into a mobile library. The library, which travels to
different parts of the community to lend books to disadvantaged families and to
shut-ins, is in desperate need of buying new books.
Many
of the programme's volunteers are teachers who not only lend out the books but
also read one-on-one to many of the children,
The
fund-raising event between 11am and 3pm includes viewing Villa Retiro, one of
NCB's newest $2.8 million homes, and checking out the latest interior design
trends on display from local outlets, including Bon Vivant, Marksons, Uncle
Bills, Beacon, Tomlinson Furniture, Furniture Depot, and I-Systems. Others at
the event include Harbour House Marina and Hyundai.
