GRAND CAYMAN, CAYMAN ISLANDS - The
first-ever Key Leader Reunion, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Grand Cayman at
the end of May, was declared by organizers as a resounding success and
"wonderful experience."
The reunion was staged at St Ignatius Catholic Church for all current and
former members of the International Kiwanis programme that targets teen
leadership development.
"The participants had a great opportunity reconnecting with the other
participants," said Wiekert Weber, Key Leader organizer, "who all left
energized- and not just from the complimentary food and beverages."
The Kiwanis Club, in conjunction with Kiwanis International, implemented its
programme three years ago that assists teenage students to develop into
tomorrow's valued personnel and future executives.
The weekend consisted of various activities and exercises conducted by trained
facilitators and volunteers, according to organizers.
The next Key Leader event will be 22-24 October.
"We encourage those teenagers between the ages of 15 and 18 to participate and
enjoy a fun weekend," said Mr Weber. At the same time, students will learn the
leadership tools they need to reach their educational and career goals.
Details about registration will be circulated at the start of the school year
and more information about Key Leader Event in October can be obtained from the
website at www.kiwanis.ky
