FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA—In honor of the 53rd annual Kiwanis Pancake Karnival, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. February 12 at the Fargodome, readers were asked to submit their best pancake-themed haiku – a non-rhyming, three-line poem with five, seven and five syllables per line.

We received more than 50 entries and picked the following 10 to publish. Those 10 “winners” each received two tickets to the carnival.

Note: The author’s names are printed as entered on the Areavoices.com comment blog.
