LOS ALTOS, CALIFORNIA—The Loyola School K-Kids Club, sponsored by the Los Altos Kiwanis Club, is well on its way to surpassing its collection goal for its eighth annual “Share Old Spectacles” drive. The students have set a goal for of collecting more than 1,200 pairs of eyeglasses.

The K-Kids Club, comprising second- through sixth-graders, has collected more than 7,500 pairs of glasses in seven years with the help of the public and local storeowners who offered space for collection buckets.

The glasses are sent to Direct Relief International in Goleta, where they are repaired, prescriptions identified and distributed to those who need them in the U.S. and throughout the world.
