Like most first-time Kiwanis International convention attendees, Rachel Clayton will return from this year’s gathering filled with inspiration and vivid memories.
Unlike most first-time Kiwanis International convention attendees, though, Rachel is not a Kiwanian. Rather, she is a member of the Rydal Elementary School K-Kids club in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania, and is writing a
daily blog about her convention experiences.
The sixth-grader earned the title of K-Kids ambassador by garnering first-place honors in the 2006-07 K-Kids speech contest. In addition to posting daily accounts during the convention, Rachel will deliver her
award-winning speech during a special session celebrating Kiwanis’ Service Leadership Programs. The speech details how K-Kids has made in impact in her school and community, and how being a K-Kid has made her more aware of what just one person like her can do to make the world a better place.
