The Kiwanis International Foundation received a four-star, “exceptional” rating from Charity Navigator, a nonprofit organization that evaluates the financial performance of thousands of charities. The foundation garnered the organization’s top rating for exceeding industry standards and outperforming most charities in its cause.
“Receiving a four-star rating ensures our donors can be confident in our continuous efforts to act as good stewards of contributions,” says John Sloan, Foundation Executive Director.
Most of the Kiwanis International Foundation’s funds come from Kiwanis clubs and members. Since its creation, the foundation has provided more than US$73 million in grants to support:
- Kiwanis service programs
- Children’s health and safety
- Youth leadership development
- Disaster relief worldwide
The foundation recently launched its first-ever endowment campaign. The “You Can Make a Difference” campaign’s goal is US$37 million to provide permanent support for Kiwanis service priorities.
