Texas-style party nets $16,000 for scholarships

Kiwanis cowboys and cowgirls wore big smiles
at the Party for a Purpose—as will Key Club
and Circle K scholarship winners.

It was billed as a “Party for a Purpose,” and it was aptly named.

More than 275 Kiwanians and guests paid US$100 to enjoy a Texas-style barbecue and hoedown during the International Convention in San Antonio.

With 60 percent of the proceeds dedicated to the Service Leadership Programs Endowment, the fun evening at the Buckhorn Saloon and Museum earned more than $16,000 to be used to provide scholarships for college-bound Key Club and Circle K members.
