under the night sky in recognition of Prematurity
Awareness Month.
The Kiwanis International Office in Indianapolis, Indiana, will be lit pink and blue during November in recognition of Prematurity Awareness Month.
The project is part of a March of Dimes effort to raise awareness about premature birth—the number-one killer of newborns in the first month of life. Last year, more than half a million babies were born too soon in the United States alone. Kiwanis partners with the March of Dimes to spread the word about this growing health crisis.
“Last year, the Kiwanis family—including Kiwanis, Key Club, Circle K, and Builders Club—raised more than US$168,000 for the March of Dimes,” says Branded Programs specialist Elizabeth Warren.
This is the third year Kiwanis has participated in the lighting.
