They’re timely, they’ll help children, and they’re free.
Need more reasons to order materials from the (US) National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD)? How about this: The resources complement Kiwanis International’s ongoing service program, Young Children: Priority One, which addresses the needs of children from prenatal through age 5.
Now, in addition to the vast amount of YCPO resources available through Kiwanis, NICHD shares its valuable resources with Kiwanis. Kiwanis members and clubs are encouraged to use this free information to educate the public about topics pertaining to early childhood—everything from the “Back to Sleep” campaign to teaching children how to read.
Download the NICHD order form, see the list of available resources, and place an order. The materials you receive can be copied without restriction. Though the resource list was created by a United States agency, the materials will be used in any country in which English or Spanish is appropriate.
“There are many ways Kiwanis members can pass this information along,” says Branded Programs specialist Elizabeth Warren. “Clubs could consider adding a Kiwanis logo to the documents and make additional copies to distribute to child care centers, Head Start and Early Head Start facilities, doctor’s offices, and health and parenting fairs. Sharing this information is yet another way for Kiwanis to reach out to communities to spread awareness for childhood issues and for the Kiwanis Young Children: Priority One project.”
