World Service Medal deadline nears

The deadline to submit nominations for the World Service medal is fast approaching. The deadline is Sunday, February 1, so nominations must be received no later than Monday, February 2, 2009.

For each entry, please attach a biographical sketch, either a previously published account or a maximum of two typed pages, explaining the nominee’s background and career, how he/she became involved in the service activity, how it has been organized and supported, what challenges have been overcome, and what more needs to be done.

Please add news clippings or other published accounts, brochures, photos, letters from those familiar with the nominee’s work or who have benefitted from it, and any other materials that will help to demonstrate the caliber of the nominee’s service work and worthiness for this award. If possible, reduce all items to 8.5 inches by 11 inches (21x28 cm). Videotapes (VHS), CDs and DVDs can also be considered. Send only duplicate or replaceable items.
