Saturday, April 4, 2009, marks the third observance of Kiwanis One Day, a day when Kiwanis and its family of clubs—Kiwanis Junior, Circle K International, Key Club International, Aktion Club, Builders Club and Kiwanis Kids—join forces with their communities for a day of hands-on service. Much service is provided and great work gets done on this day, work that increases Kiwanis’ presence in the community and builds awareness about the value of service.
More than 600 Kiwanis-family clubs participated in the inaugural Kiwanis One Day, and hundreds more stepped up last year for the second celebration of Kiwanis One Day. This year, more clubs are joining in to help set the standard—a standard clearly met by your club and your project—for the years to come.
Planned projects run the gamut from beach cleanups and streetscape cleaning to playground building to read-a-thons to pet days at senior centers to packing meals for children and families in need. No project is too large or too small to make a difference in a child’s or community’s life during Kiwanis One Day.
