I find the New Monthly Report user-unfriendly. I completed p. 1, went to p. 2 completed it to a point, hit the wrong key and was trasnsported back to home page. When I again went to p. 2, all of what I had done was erased. That's too much of a penalty for one key misstep!   I also found p. 1 difficult as the questions were all about how many members, how much money, how many benefited, and after only 1 month of the new year. There seemed to ne no way to change anything pre-printed such as membership. Is shows our club with 46 but we have 38 as of Sept 31. I also object to the way the new report was introduced. I may have kept different records if I knew the statistical questions that would be asked. I went to the site last month but was told we wouldn't know how it was changed until after the end of the month.

That's no way to run a railroad!

I agree with the other Joseph. There is also no place to report "inactive" members. This will hurt the attendance percentages. We have a few members who retain their membership and help on projects, but cannot attend meetings for health or work schedule conflict reasons. The continuing emphasis on KI projects instead of our local projects is becoming a little alarmimg too.

Hi Darlene - Could you tell me which key you hit that took you back to the "home page".  And could you tell me what the home page is.  Is it the report start page, or the home page that shows when you oprn your browser?

Questions asking about members, hours, etc. have always been on reports.  We are just asking for the numbers to all be totaled instead of listing them independently.

The membership number in the attendance area is your membership as of the 1st of the report month.  It comes from KI and is the actual membership we had for the beginning of the month.

Joseph Reed - I do not see a post from another Joseph, but I will address your comment on inactive members.  For the most part attendance % is not used for anything, so we wanted to simplify it so you only have to indicate the number of members in attendance.  What is important is to establish a baseline of your attendance so that it can be recognized if it suddenly drops.

I wouldn't say there is more of an emphasis on KI branded programs.  We need to know if they are being used so that we know if they should be continued.  Clubs are out there doing great work not related to branded programs and that is fantastic.  We just need to have a metric to know if our program are effective.

On summary page for 2008-2009, the answers to questions concerning officer education is wrong,  inal three cases we had officrs attended district training, mid year convention, annual convention and KI international annual convention.  How do we correct?

I agree, the new monthly reports are very vague and not user friendly.

I am curious. The second comment above is noted as one of mine. It isn't mine? How did my name get attached to someone elses reply? Thanks.

Our club has members that can't make the mtgs. but do show up for many projects with the believe that they are helping the club attain higher attendance percentages.  So, I guess we will set up our own Div. attendance.  I believe competition is always a motivator.

If there are any areas of your Annual Report which are incorrect, you can always return to the Monthly Reports to make changes and resubmit the report.  This will push up corrections to the Annual Report.  Also, there are a number of resources available on this page to help you understand the new report content:  www.kiwanisone.org/.../default.aspx

Scott,

I don't see one from another Joseph now either. It was there when I posted. <insert googley-eyed emoticon here>

Attendance percentage is used in our District to compile club rankings every month so it does matter to us.

New monthly reporting SUX!  Why weren't we (or I) informed of the upcoming changes?  Seesms as though KI doesn't want to know what we're doing anymore, except for money. Where can we report about working with our sponsored clubs.  Very user unfriendly and S-L-O-W.  Slow on the KI end because I'm using high speed fiber optics (better than DSL or cable).  Also, get this, after I CORRECTLY logged into the October report start page and completed the OCTOBER report, my Lt. Gov  asks me why I did the January 2010 report.    This is so typical...big corps or organizations implement changes without asking for input from the front line troops who must deal with the changes.  As with any company, you really want to know what's going on or how to make impovements, ask the shop floor workers; they know.

I am a new secretary, but cannot register so that I may submit my October monthly report. My ID#, 00043933, and/or our Club#, 00325, are not being accepted. Sooooo, what's wrong.

I personally do not like the new monthly report. Maybe it will grow on me.

David, I have added secretary permissions to your profile.  You can log in as usual and you will notice the blue Secretary navigation link on the left of your screen.  If you have difficulty logging in, please send an email to kiwanisone@kiwanis.org so we can assist you.

I do not like the new monthly report. I have read through the comments and  agree with most. I was really amazed couldn't believe what had happened as nothing was mentioned in the training materials about a change coming down the tube. The section of the old report Spiritual Aims is completely left out of the new report. Spiritual Aims is one of Kiwanis Internationals six objects.
