Where would we be without water?

World Water Day is an international day of observance established by the United Nations to draw attention to the plight of the more than 1 billion people worldwide who lack access to clean, safe drinking water. Celebrated on each March 22nd since 1993, World Water Day encourages people to take small but meaningful actions to make a difference. This year’s theme, “Water for Cities: Responding to the Urban Challenge,” focuses on the impact of rapid urban population growth, industrialization and the uncertainties wrought by climate change, conflict and natural disasters on urban water systems. 

World Water Day works hand-in-hand with The Six Cents Initiative, the Circle K International-UNICEF partnership designed to help children get the rehydrating salts they need to survive dehydration spells.
