Back-to-school time for students means refreshing their supplies of looseleaf, notebooks, folders and pens, locating last year’s flash drive and picking out a new backpack and lunch box. For teachers it means cleaning out last year’s files, redecorating homeroom bulletin boards, updating lesson plans and getting to know a new group of students.
For those of you serving as Kiwanis advisors to your club’s Service Leadership Programs, it means it’s time to prepare for a new group of incoming members. This might involve training new club officers, turning in required paperwork and dues and reviewing lists of possible new club activities. Whether you are new to this role or have been doing it for years, you may need a refresher course on just what your role entails and finding resources for getting geared up for a new year. All your school supplies are available at www.KiwanisOne.org/advisor. Let it be your one-stop, back-to-school shop, as well as a good reference throughout the year.
