Every day, your club is helping children in your community, and the Kiwanis International Foundation raises funds to make your service projects and student scholarships a reality.

Help serve children in need around the world through Kiwanis International Foundation’s Sustaining Donor program. It’s the key giving program for individuals who want to make a big impact in children’s lives. You gift makes a huge difference:

US$50 = 10 children’s books
US$5 = 7 meals
US$100 = 5 pairs of shoes

Make your mark with an annual club gift to KIF

The Kiwanis International Foundation appreciates clubs that include an annual gift in their service budgets. The foundation uses club gifts to meet the needs of children through grants, and scholarships. Here are a few examples of how annual club gifts make a huge impact:

Project 7: A KIF grant helped the Kiwanis Club of Kuala Lumpur provide educational expenses and developmental toys to the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation National Centre in Malaysia.

Projecto Honduras: The Kiwanis Club of Federal Way, Washington, helps furnish Hondurans with a free medical clinic and malaria-control center, along with other assistance.

Medical equipment for Macedonia: The Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Kiwanis Club will send medical supplies and equipment to children’s hospitals in Macedonia.

Tax tips: End-of-year donations

As the year winds down, the thoughts of many turn to giving. The Kiwanis International Foundation is grateful to those who keep us in mind. We’re pleased to offer a few tips to help you make the most of your end-of-year gifts.

For instance, you might consider:

Itemizing your gifts rather than taking the standard deduction. You could even make donations in one year that you might normally make over two, and then itemizing.
Deducting out-of-pocket expenses associated with your charitable work. For instance: mileage, parking and tolls.
Contributing appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual fund shares. Transfer shares directly from your account—enjoy the deduction for the full current value and avoid capital gains tax.
