Monitoring Membership

In the last few weeks we have rolled out easily accessible online membership reports to district secretaries, governors, lieutant governors, and TAG Team members. The message of the availabilty of these reports may have not made it to all who need it, so please spread the word of these reports. They are available in the same location as the monthly reports in KiwanisOne. If you are a governor, governor-elect, lieutenant governor, or TAG Team member and need help getting access to the reports, send an email to kiwanisone@kiwanis.org and ask for assistance.

These reports give the starting and current membership numbers for the clubs, divisions, and districts as well as the change for the year. When the report is run all of the numbers are taken real-time from the Kiwanis database.

Last week we also released an online membership list for the club secretaries to access.  It is located in the same place in KiwanisOne as the monthly reports.

Two Issues.

1.  There is no MR Summary this year.  I used it every month in my newsletter last year.  The Dollars and service hours are as important as the numbers of members.

2.  I am a Lt. Governor and there is only last year's membership numbers available.  What happened to this years numbers.  I get an email once a month forwarded from District.  That is all I have.

Hi Bob...The MR Summary page is in the final stages of being rewritten.  It will be more comprehensive and will include many of the fields in the MR. The first version will be cumulative for the year.  Once that is out we will be working on a month-by-month version.  My goal is to launch it on Monday.

The membership numbers are available.  Log in and go to the Lt Gov menu and choose Membership Reports.  It will display year-to-date membership information for your division.

All of the new technology you are giving to the clubs is WONDERFUL!!!!  As a Division Secretary I appreciate the effort you and your  staff are going to helping spread Kiwanis and the service we provide.

The information is there, as a secretary we just have to decide what to do with it!  Our Division justs puts the info in by hand based on each of the clubs' monthly reports.  Gives our  LtG a picture of where each clubs' stregnths and weaknesses are.  EXCELLENT!

THANK YOU!

Scott,

Great work on the report. The report is sorted for me by Key number. It would be much more helpful sorted by division. thanks

Hi Mark...If you click on the header for the Division column it will sort by that.  It works like that for all of the columns, so you can also sort by which clubs have increased or decreased. -- Scott

Where do I look to see a list of Kiwanis Committees, ie. membership, programs, sponsored youth, etc.?

Thanks,

Grady

Hi Grady...Are you looking for a list of standard/typical committees a Kiwanis club would have? -- Scott

Just wondering why only club secretaries have access to membership rosters.  The club President is ultimately responsible for the activities of the club including membership growth & retention.  As the one person with responsibility for the overall operation of the club, I believe club Presidents should have the ability to access to this information, too.

Hi Jennifer...We are working towards getting presidents access to certain parts of the reporting area.  The secretaries have access now because they were already logging in to do their reporting. There are a number of different tools that will be available to presidents in the near future.
