Kiwanis Down Under

This blog comes to you from a roadside internet cafe deep in the heart of New Zealand.  For the past 10 days I have working with our Kiwanis leaders and members here in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific to identify the key strategies that will catapult these districts forward, causing them to grow like never before.  It has been a non-stop tour that has included radio and newspaper interviews, town-hall style meetings, Kiwanis gatherings and one-on-one meetings with Kiwanis members.  The enthusiasm here is very high and I am extremely encouraged.  Although they are facing huge challenges of distance and isolation, they are also doing some amazing things in their communities.  The KIWI's here in NZ and their counterparts in Australia represent huge potential for the Kiwanis family to grow.

We are traveling from Georgia to Australia and New Zealand at the end of this month. How do we find a Kiwanis club to visit?  Is there a link that will show all the towns that have Kiwanis meetings, when they are held, and the address of their meeting?

Hi!  What fun!  I would recommend to you that you check out our club locator at www.kiwanis.org.  It is at the top left hand side of the page.  Our Aussie and Kiwi members are passionate and fun, I know that you will find a warm welcome.   You can also find their websites on our home page.  Please feel free to e-mail me should you like to discuss your trip, and I can also provide some local e-mail contacts for you!

Hi Wanda

Great to hear you are visiting down under.  The main concentration of clubs in New Zealand is in the Mid & North Island. Just 3 clubs in the lower North Island area and 44 in Christchurch area.  If you send me your itinery I will endeavour to conect you with clubs so you can feel the true warmth of a Kiwi welcome.

The Kiwanis Internet Club of Bayside (Australia) may be contacted via its website.

Kiwanian Vistors are welcome to join us while travelling in Australia. They would need to make contact first in order to be issued with a tempoary Password and Login Name. We "meet" in our Club Chat Rooom vis the Club's website "Members" webpage every first and third Monday each month, for one hour, starting at 7pm Australia Eastern Standard Time (AEST). The thre  Zones' Times (including Central and Western), around the country are featured on the "Meetings" webpage.

For other information related to the Kiwanis Australia District traditional clubs please log on to www.kiwanis.org.au. All details re Club Contacts, venues and meeting times are recorded on the Australia District site.

Sorry I missed your emails.  We were in Christchurch on March 30th which was a Sunday. We were aboard ship when you sent your email.  Maybe next time.....

We had a great time. We received a Kiwi warm welcome and loved the town and area.

Thanks for responding.

Wanda
