Leadership Gold Discussion to Start Monday, October 13th

For those that are planning to do the leadership book discussion with us, we will start on Monday October 13th.  The staff at Kiwanis Headquarters will be meeting for 45 minutes each Monday to discuss it and we will be blogging about it together as much and as often as there is interest.  Since this is new for us we may try a few different things.  I  would suggest that you read the first two chapters by that date and be ready to share your thoughts and experiences.

My daughter is a member of Key  Club in Norwich Ny.

She was recently told by her advisor to purchase decorations for an upcoming dance.. is it common for key club to require  low income kids to foot the bill for such expenses, as a requirement for membership. It seems a little

strange seeing as how this is a huge event and decorations could get expensive. Again, Is this common practice???

My sister inlaw was a member years ago and only remembered community service projects.

There is not too much wrong with the leadership book. What is wrong is that we do no longer train our new leaders at CLE.  CLE has turned out to be a pep ralley to build new clubs and not how to improve existing ones.

Club Revitalization begins at CLE! So we need to turn that into educating our Presidents, "hands on" on how to run an excting, fun meeting.

Our Secretaries need hands on training on making their reports.

To prove my point I would have you look at 2 Clubs in PNE Linconl City and Astoria_Warrenton each up 25% the last few years
