This is one the best tools Kiwanis a has given us for membership growth. It gives clubs the opportunity to meet the needs of smaller communities. It is also a great option for members, and prospective members that can't meet at the club's regular meeting time.

We agree, Jerry! It's great to offer such useful resources to our clubs.  Good luck!

I have been a Kiwanis Club Member going on 5 years. I am also a Salvation Army Officer.  I recently moved with my Family to Cadillac Michigan after being stationed in Leavenworth, KS for 4 years.  The club in Cadillac is an evening club that meets on Monday. Being away from family another evening of the week just isn't a good idea.  I am away to much already.  My children need me at home.  It was my hope that this evening club would allow a Satellite club to form so that we could meet at noon.  They said no as they thought it would dilute the evening club and hurt them in the long run.  I just don't understand this.  I also can not afford to go to the evening meetings as the meals are costly.  This is the last part of the email I was sent "In summary, if you intend to continue with the Kiwanis organization than do nothing.  If you feel you do not want to be a member of an evening club I would need to know so we can submit a drop form on your behalf.  I would very much like to see you stay, the International Bylaws only require a member to attend one meeting a month.  I don't think that is unreasonable as your continued membership will act as a good faith showing for our club to continue supporting the Salvation Army.   It is getting close to having our annual food drive at the local super markets and then the bell ringing at Christmas.  Looking forward to your decision" One meeting a month. Really? And I thought it was about the children.  My Children First.  We must take care of our own house. An evening away from home hinders this ability.  An hour away at noon when they are already in school? Yes

We have another club in our area.  They are having a hard time maintainng 25 members.  Would it be possible to bring the members of that other club into our club and have them continue to function as a satellite club.  If so does that club then shut down as a club.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Rudy
