Regarding the International Bylaws: I find no provision in the District sectio(Article IX) for a Governor Select position. I understand that some Districts do have a "third" position. Can a District have a Governor, Governor Elect, and a GOVERNOR SELECT as part of the administration of the District?
Thank you for your response.

Gov-Elect
Kansas District
Hi John. I’m assuming you mean a position for the person who will be Governor two years out; is that correct? For instance, Pat Weichman will be Governor in 2009-10, you’ll be Governor one year out in 2010-11, and the “Governor-select” would be Governor two years out in 2011-12. If so, you are correct that there is currently no provision for “Governor-select” by any title. Some districts designate that the person elected as Treasurer will be Governor two years out, which is permissible—basically designate that the Treasurer will be the sole candidate for Governor-elect (barring any successful nominations from the floor, of course). If that’s something your district is interested in, I can put you in touch with districts that do that and help you craft the necessary bylaws amendments to implement it. Let me know if you have other questions.
