Biography of Dan L. Connolly
Dan Connolly is a native of San Jose, California. His commitment to community service began in 1969, when he joined the Boy Scouts, progressing to the rank of Eagle. In 1977, he was named San Jose’s “Young Columbus”, and sent as an envoy to Spain and Portugal, by Parade Magazine. He has grown up in the Kiwanis Family serving as Key Club President in High School and Circle K President at the University of Idaho.

In 1981, Dan started his career in law enforcement with Moscow Police Department in Idaho. In 1986 he founded A.C.S. an armored car/ ATM service company in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is the past International President of the Independent Armored Car Operators Association. He has appeared on CBS World News Tonight, CNN, the Discovery Channel, TLC's "Best Kept Secrets about Money", and has been featured in U.S.A. Today.

Dan is also a Certified Firewalk Instructor and motivational speaker. Challenging students, volunteer groups and business leaders to break through the barriers that keep them from reaching their full potential in life. He utilizes many different individual and team building techniques, including board breaking, arrow shattering, rebar bending, a meditative glass walk and, walking on hot coals: "Firewalking". Participants in his seminars are challenged to face their fears, as they walk the path to visionary leadership.

Dan is a member of the Kiwanis Club of San Jose, was distinguished both as club President and Lt. Governor, served 2004-2009 as your Trustee on the Kiwanis International Foundation Board and as the 2008-2009 "Team Kiwanis" Governor of the California-Nevada-Hawaii District of Kiwanis International.

Dan is married to Cheryl, who is also an active San Jose Kiwanian and an educator. (The two actually met in Key Club!) He has three sons, Christopher, Jordan and Matthew and a step-daughter named Allie.
